This class will focus on remedies available for people with criminal records in Alameda County. Many people believe that their records no long impact them once they've completed their sentence, unfortunately this is not true. This seminar will walk through the remedies available for individuals with criminal records in California. It will outline the legal process as well as the benefits and limitations of the remedies.

Instructor Bio: Margaret Richardson is a staff attorney in the Decriminalization of Poverty Practice at the East Bay Community Law Center in Berkeley, CA. Her work focuses on the intersection of poverty and criminal law including representing individuals seeking to clean up their criminal records, victims of police misconduct at citizen police review board hearings in Oakland and Berkeley, status citation defense for homeless people in Berkeley.

This class is part of a Free School that has recently started in the East Bay.

All classes are DROP-IN FRIENDLY. For a COMPLETE CLASS CALENDAR (we have over 25 classes for this summer) and MORE INFORMATION on the free school, please visit:
