Counter "God Hates Fags" in Tracy Tomorrow!

"God Hates Fags" is the name of a group out of Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas. They are most know for countering Matt L. (the young gay man who was murdered and placed on a fence to die), memorials, with signs that read "god hates fags". They will be in Tracy to protest Tracy High School's graduation, simply for the fact that they have a Gay Straight Alliance Group.

We need to not only stand up against this tide of homophobia, but also stand up for the young organizers in Tracey. Schools can easily buckle under the pressure of such groups, and could squash the group's efforts at organizing. Allready they have tried to discourage the members ot the GSA from holding a counter protest. Extreamists like nazi's and homophobes exist because they have a backdrop of racism and hatred to fall back on. We not only need to counter the racism, classism, sexism, homophobia, etc in the existing society, but also counter and militantally defend our communities from such filth as they pop up, and seek to gain more recruits with them.

They will be at Tracey West High School, 1775 W. Lowell Ave., June 11, 9 a.m.; and, Tracy High School, 315 E. 11th St., June 11, 4 p.m.
