Greenaction's 8th Annual Celebration of Struggles and Victories for Environmental Justice
Greenaction's 8th Annual Celebration of Struggles and Victories for Environmental Justice was held at St. Bonafice Church in San Francisco.
This event featured cultural and artistic talent from the same communities fighting for environmental justice; Malcolm X Polynesian Dancers (Bayview Hunters Point), Danza Azteca from Xitlalli (Mission District), Huntersview Childrens Choir from Bayview Hunters Point, Mohave Bird Singers from Colorado River Indian Tribes, Evon Peter and Sarah James from the Gwich'in Nation from Alaska and surprise guest The Climate Justice Corps 2005 featuring Anthony Dorsey from Atlanta Georgia (12 youth of color working across the nation along with part the Environmental Justice Climate Change Initiative).
Others in attendance, members of: Indigenous Environmental Network (based in Bemidji MN), the Dolores Huerta Foundation (Bakersfield), Grayson Neighborhood Council (Westside of Stanislaus County), El Pueblo Para el Aire y Agua Limpio (Kettlemen City), Ongo Gaudadeh Devia (Skull Valley Goshutes, Utah) and many other Environmental Justice Activists!
