Venezuela: Threat or Hope for Latin America
Who presents the greatest threat to security in Latin America? Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says it’s Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. President Chavez says it is the Bush Administration. Who’s right?
Come and see what four Inverness residents recently learned. Rae Levine, Sue Scott, Dale Sorensen and Mark Silva were with a 20-member delegation sponsored by Global Exchange and Marin Interfaith Task Force on the Americas, who spent ten days in Venezuela in April. They will share eyewitness accounts and a slide presentation of what the Venezuelan people call their “Bolivarian Revolution.”
The program is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22, 7-9 p.m., at the Dance Palace Community Center, at the corner of Fifth and B Streets, Point Reyes Station. A $5-10 donation is requested. No one turned away for lack of funds. Refreshments. Wheelchair Accessible. For information 415/924-3227, mitf@igc.org, www.mitfamericas.org.
