Support AB 654 - CA Compassion & Choices act!

Choice-in-dying bill AB 654 needed support - and you showed your support!

How inspiring it was at Wednesday's Appropriations Committee hearing
to see our supporters file up to the podium and express their support
for California's Compassionate Choices Act. Our opposition was
outnumbered 2-1 by our supporters, and we showed the committee
members that this bill needs to pass. Many showed up with their
yellow Compassion & Choices t-shirts, which made an incredible visual
impression. We thank you for your continued support - and your
immediate action on Wednesday, May 18.

AB 654 is being held in the suspense file in the Appropriations
Committee. This means that the bill did not get a vote on Wednesday,
but will get voted on next week on Wednesday, May 25th.

Our efforts won't stop here!

AB 654, if passed by the Appropriations Committee will go to the
Assembly Floor for a vote. We need to get 41 members of the Assembly
to vote for our bill and our opposition is fierce. Your letters and
calls are important throughout this process. We will inform you of
the Appropriations Committee vote and will let you know when it is
time to email your representative to ask for their support when this
