The meeting is sponsored by the San Francisco Atheists and is free and open to the public. Johnson will speak on "MADALYN O'HAIR: What She Stood For and Why Her Ideas Matter Today." Johnson discusses O'Hair's legacy, and why her ideas are especially relevant today in the midst of the "American Religious Civil War" and issues like the faith-based initiative, "prayer bullying" in schools and the workplace, and the effort to legislate "special rights" for organized religion.
