Protest racist author Michel Houellebecq at his SF Appearance

Date:
Wednesday, May 25, 2005
Time:
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Martin Muller
Location Details:
Foreign Cinema Restaurant, 2534 Mission St. (between 21st & 22nd Sts.), San Francisco

Racist French author Michel Houellebecq will be making an appearance and doing a book reading at Foreign Cinema on Wednesday, May 25th at 6:30pm. Houellebecq is notorious for his extremist anti-Arab and anti-Muslim hate speech, and was recently put on trial in France for racist incitement when he declared that Islam was "the stupidest of all religions."

Houellebecq is the most hated man in Europe and is the new face of Nazism, and San Franciscans should stand up in outrage that he would dare to show up here of all places to spew his vile racist theories.

Make a stand! Show up and protest in front of the restaurant -- bring signs as well. There will be no organizing committee behind this event -- everyone should make an individual decision that they need to go. If you can, do attend the book reading inside (it is free) and make your views heard.

Anyone who feels strongly about defeating racism -- especially Bay Area Muslims and Arabs, who are the particular target of this man -- needs to show up and STOP THE HATE NOW.
