5/18 at 11am: Immigrants demand California Drivers License Law!

IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES DEMAND ID'S AND DRIVERS LICENSES!!!

PLEASE JOIN US FOR A PRESS CONFERENCE AND PICKET OF THE SAN FRANCISCO DMV!!

President Bush just signed the "Real ID Act," which among other things, will
deny undocumented immigrants nationally access to something as basic as an
id and a drivers license, simply because of their immigration status.
Immigrants from San Jose, Oakland, the Central Valley and San Francisco are
calling on California to pass its own drivers license law, which would
minimally allow them to drive legally within the State. They are asking
that people boycott California DMV offices where pickets take place to
express solidarity with immigrant communities.

WHAT: Immigrant communities hold press conference and picket to denounce
President Bush's signing of the "Real ID Act," and to call for boycott of
DMV's until California passes a drivers license law.
