There are few tools more powerful than the media to drive opinion and action. Leaders from film, print and television take on the double challenge: How do we motivate and make our own media for social change?
Speakers:
Jeremy Gilley, the British director of "Peace One Day" in his U.S. debut reveals how he unleashed the power of film to reach 600 million people worldwide, Shimon Peres, the Dalai Lama and Kofi Annan, and move the United Nations into establishing a World Peace Day -- a day of global cease-fire.
Other leading panelists include Cheryl Woodward, a serial entrepreneur who co-founded and managed PC Magazine, PC World, Macworld and most recently, AskQuestions.org, an emerging public interest news project that combats the bias in commercial media; and Sylvia Paull, a marketing guru for high-tech businesses and organizations such as CNET and Ask Jeeves and founder of multiple technology groups in the Bay Area.
