Gay males smell pheromones differently?
When they smell human pheromones, do gay men's brains respond like those of straight women?
New research on human erotic PHEROMONES:
Do gay males respond like straight females?

Modern U.S. "deodorant culture" devalues, disrespects, and denies natural odors of the human body; and tries to cover these over with artificial chemical smells.
This cultural blindness wasn't shared by Napoleon, who appreciated the unbathed smell of a woman's body. Other cultures have valued and trained the sense of smell, for tracking prey, for medical diagnosis, for appreciating foods and wines, etc.
Perhaps influenced by modern prejudice against smell, some scientists have tried to deny that
pheromones affect human sexual behavior. In my queer opinion, these "smell-denialists" are wrong.
However, we don't yet know HOW pheromones work in humans.
Research in this field has barely begun.
Only a few researchers, so far, have dared to study this doubly controversial topic. ( "Doubly" because both sexuality and odors trouble neo-Victorian wimps who see the body as "bestial" and "animalistic". )
,,,,,,
This latest study uses brain scans to see which portions of the brain are stimulated when a person smells a pheromone, or smells some non-sexual odor.
Responses of straight men and straight women
are distinctly different.
Responses of gay men resemble those of straight women.
(How butch is that, guys? )
Responses of "gay women", collected but not yet published,
may be more complex.
Responses of "bisexual" (pansexual) persons,
usually ignored by researchers and by the press,
would presumably be very complex. ]
