What: Have a Beer, Save a Moon Bear Garden Party! Please join Juliet Lamont, Phil Price, Lisa Owens, Ann Riley, Jim Harral and Beth Lamont for an afternoon fundraiser of food, drink and original works of art to help rescue a Moon Bear!
When: Saturday, May 7, 2-4pm

Why: to raise $9,600, which is the approximate cost to bring one Moon Bear from bile farm to freedom and permanent sanctuary for the rest of her/his life.
The ‘Have a Beer, Save a Moon Bear Garden Party’ will feature:
Free beer, donated by Yeast Bay Brewery
Silent auction of original art by Bay Area artists Michelle Manning, Dorothy Weicker, Christopher Castle and others, plus a limited edition meade (2004)(a guaranteed aphrodisiac) by Berkeley’s Yeast Bay Brewery
‘Name the Bear to be Rescued’ contest and prize
Inspiring video of the rescue and rehabilitation of the first 63 bears to arrive at Animals Asia’s Moon Bear Rescue Center (current total of rescued bears is 185)
Wine and cheese tasting and other delicious food
If you cannot come but would like to make a donation of any amount, please send a check payable to Animals Asia Foundation to Lisa, 1108 Chaucer Street, Berkeley, CA 94702 to help the organizers reach their goal of raising $9600. Your donation will be counted toward this house party goal.
