An Eyewitness Report from Mindanao, Philippines - The Second Front in the U.S. “War On Terror”
Rm. C-114, Cesar Chavez Center, SF State University
From the Bangsamoro Island of Mindanao, the Philippines is a land of 18 million Muslims, Christians, and Indigenous People. A rich land under constant war and imperialist intervention.
Johneric Concordia, Chair of Kabataang maka-Bayan (Pro-People Youth) USA, has just returned from a 4-month integration trip from the southern island of the Philippines, Mindanao. He will be sharing an in-depth perspective of the ongoing struggle of the Bangsamoro people in their fight for self-determination and rights to ancestral lands. The Philippines has been declared as the 2nd Front in Bush's so called "War on Terror". Mindanao and its people face continuous hardships, exploitation, human rights violations and oppression perpetrated by the U.S. backed-Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Regime.
