Celebrate the release of "From Ike to Mao and Beyond: My Journey from Mainstream America to Revolutionary Communist" - a memoir by Bob Avakian.

The event will take place on Friday May 6th at 7 pm at King Middle School, 1781 Rose in Berkeley (formerly Garfield, where Bob went to school). The evening will reflect the people, places, times, experiences, and cultured chronicled in Avakian's memoir: the unique mix that created 1960's Berkeley; the struggles he and many of us were part of, the music and culture that helped shape his - and our lives; and the timeliness of what Cornel West, commenting on From Ike to Mao, calls Avakian's "powerful story of commitment".

A special evening of readings, reflections, music, exhibits, video, anecdotes and insight from those who've have known him and watch him grow.
