How SF did 4/20

by 4queerpage
Cannabis Freedom Day at Hippy Hill, 20 April 2005
Hundreds of people, mostly young adults, celebrated Cannabis Freedom Day (aka 4/20) at Hippy Hill in Golden Gate Park, SF.

Some drummed, danced, twirled flags, juggled sticks, hackeysacked, etc.; while others vegged out on the lawn in the mild spring afternoon.

At 4:20 pm, drumming briefly stopped, and cheers went up.

Many persons displayed small paper cylinders alleged to contain dried leaves, flowers, etc.
These were then smoked, usually by groups of three to ten adults.
