Introducing Anarchy: A Journal of Desire Armed #59!

by editor@anarchymag.org (editor [at] anarchymag.org)
The AJODA collective is now in the Bay Area. The first issue of Anarchy produced by us is now out!!!!

While the magazine has been out for a couple of weeks we wanted to wait to announce it to the world until we updated to our brand new web presence.

You can check out the website here. (http://anarchymag.org) At the website you can read some of the content from our newest issue. You can check out our new distro, our old catalog, you can take our poll, and eventually you will be able to do much more.

Why all of the changes?

There's a new group producing Anarchy: A Journal of Desire Armed (AJODA).

Based in the SF Bay Area, this small but angry crew is determined to keep everything that's good about AJODA and make it better: more art, more ideas, a broader pool of contributors. The website and magazine will be more integrated, subscribers will get extra benefits and we all get lots of room to have strange and interesting and creative anarchist conversations.

This issue has several reviews, a survey (for tearing out or filling out at http://www.anarchymag.org), Dave Negation's update from Portland, Oregon regarding community organizing and some of the issues involved, Leona Benten's wishful thinking about anarcha-feminism, and Jason's personal history of Anarchy magazine up to 1986 as well as three columns in the critical Anarchy tradition--the next installment of Aragorn!'s "Anarchy & Strategy," Ben Blue's "Loose Canons," and the first installment of "Anarchy 101," a column for smart newcomers.

Let us know what you think.

The new issue looks great.

Love the cover and it's just generally nice to see less collages and more variety.

Looks like you all have a tough transition ahead of you, but you are off to a good start.

Some really informative reviews, loved the Emma Goldman review, and the one of the new Reclus book. I look forward to an expansion in content.

Congratulations!
