A23 fascist rally against freedom

by news4queers
Central Valley fundi-fascists campaign against rights. Local queers resist. ( news + opinion)

"We are not against the homosexuals, "
says Fresno anti-marriage activist Jody Hutchens.
"We don't have a problem with what they want to do in private.
We just don't want it in our faces."

Defending human rights against fundi attacks,
long-time Bakersfield resident
Whitney Douglas-Weddell says
"Going up against the Bible in the Bible belt
is an uphill battle."

But it can be done.
Like on April 2, when around thirty fundis rallied against queers in Bakersfield;
outnumbered by twice as many persons demonstrating
for human rights.

Next fascist rally will be April 23 in Clovis.

[ Biased comments by Tortuga Bi LIBERTY,
a gen-u-wine San Francisco freak:

Rural and small-town teens, seeing no economic or personal future in the Central Valley,
often fail to finish high school, or fail to enter college, or even fail to enter the military
(traditionally a last resort for rural youth).
Poverty, boredom, hopelessness and gross ignorance put young CV persons at risk for pregnancy
and/or drug abuse (especially alcohol and/or methamphetamine).

When their kids' futures go down the drain, puzzled parents
naturally look for some outsider to blame.

Fundis offer up a sacrificial scape-goat -- those hip San Francisco queers.
Those insolent rebels and freaksters... smoking cannabis,
riding bicycles, going to nude beaches by day and play parties by night, hugging trees....

But now, Central Valley queers (more conventional than many SF straights),
are organizing to counter-demonstrate against the fundis.
....

PS: Watch for "Reverend" Lou Sheldon's forthcoming queer-bashing book,
"THE AGENDA:
The Homosexual Plan to Abolish Moral Judgment."
