A call for rallies to counter the pope propaganda

A call for rallies to counter the pope propaganda (popeganda)

This is a call for all who see through the lies and hypocrisy of the current media coverage of the death of the pope to rally and demonstrate. This should not be seen as Anti-Christian or Anti-Catholic, but rather as an expression of an understanding of the true meaning of the life of Christ.

The church and the state are corrupt. The pope was anti-gay, anti-women’s rights, anti-abortion. He presided over a code of silence that enabled pedophiles to victimize with impunity. He talked long and eloquently of human rights yet turned a deaf ear to the pleads for help from activist priests and bishops the world over.

Let’s organize a demonstration to counter the current mass media propaganda. Let’s do it in a manner that is respectfully of people’s faith, yet gets them to think about the contradiction between what the church preaches and what it actually does. This is also a great opportunity to point out the contradictions of the BuSh regime and their agenda to merge church and state.

This was the last part of KPFA's Flashpoints on Monday. Parenti doesn't mince words in discussing the reactionary role of Karol Wojtyla, a.k.a. Pope John Paul II.
