One thing people could do, call the hotel and ask for Steve Johnson's room, then leave 'moonbat' reports, like, 'I'm sorry, I know it's 2.00AM but I just thought you should know I saw some Moonbats on Bay Road a few minutes ago'.

That guy is going to be a pain in the ass wherever he is located. Maybe it is a good thing if the pressure is relieved on his potential victims in his hometown for a weekend. Imagine being a clerk or waiter and having to serve that guy in Las Vegas or Fresno.

This post is nonsensical. There is no information about this group and their history. (FYI http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/ is a their blog and they are your basic right-leaning wingnut on the web--nothing new there.) The only thing here is a request to harass some person at some hotel. Not too smart, but this site is full of ineffectual stances on bringing about change.

If you are really concerned about any hate group, you need not look far. The Nation of Islam has a too-strong presence in Oakland and a long, tragic history of crime and abuse out of its Your Black Muslim Bakery. Working to make people realize the evil that the NOI is and does would do much more for Oakland than harping on some GOP wingnut with a blog. But, if you are looking for good symbolism and not so much in good works, then stick to the hotel front desk calls.

Its easy to attack an online discussion board since you find many of the issues nonsensical or counteroproductive. While message boards never represent the whole community a forum that allows anyone to post will include ideas from the extremely practical to the completely wingnutty and its up to you as a reader sift through the content. Its not that hard to do this since you can usually tell from the title or author name of a post if its worth your time reading. Your personal attacks on those running Indymedias is amusing but having heard a little about some of your recent problems, you are hardly one to talk.

It seems like you really dislike the Oakland Black Muslims and want others to focus on it as an issue. I know you did write a few articles about them but you could also send news updates to listservs and post them on sites like this if you want people to focus on this more. Its much easier to complain that others are not focusing on something that you find important than it is for you to do the work promoting an issue you believe in so that others care about it too. An article in the East Bay Express does get the word out to the general public, but if you want activists to foucs on it as an issues I would suggest finding a group that focuses on a similar problem and trying to get activists around that issue to notice the issues you want more actvism around. You could start with women's rights groups and cult awareness groups but there are perhaps other struggles you could tie this into to get the focus you want.

Part of the problem with trying to make something like your storiesabout the Oakland Black Muslims a focus among activists is creating something for activists to do around the issue. When a right-wing group holds a convention that is a news event that can be organized around but a constant group presense without news updates makes organizing very difficult.if you could provide weekly updates about Yusuf Bey exploitation accusations or events for activists to focus around you will get a much better response than just complaining about a lack of focus. There are plenty of nasty groups in the Bay Area form the Hell's Angels to neo-Nazis and if you want people to focus on a group that especially angers you, you have to provide both a meaningful way people can help work on the issue (Im guessing white folk from the Berkeley hills picketing a Black Nationalist bakery in a mainly African American community would not go over very well) and news updates that make clear to people that the issue is ongoing.

Just read it. He talks with glee about how he'd kill with his 'california legal' 2 inch knife. Then he says 'I hope they stay home' -- talking about liberals who happen to live in Oakland. Excuse me? We should 'stay home' because this homicidal maniac is going to be amongst us? I think one thing we can do is send Iron Fist's post via the comments link to the hotel. They deserve to know who their guest is. Perhaps they'll ask him not to carry any weapons, 'legal' or not, while he's staying with them. What if this guy is drunk one night and decides one of the other guests is a 'moonbat'?

I saw another post on LGF where he said he was having a drink and the wait person wanted to remove an empty beer bottle. 'Iron Fist/Steve Johnson said "No, don't take it away, I may need to break it over someone's head".

This guy is a nutcase. And LGF is not just another right-wing blog, it's a racist cesspool and 'Iron Fist' is a leader there.

OK, I just found out that "Iron Fist" is the name Charles Johnson uses when he's not posting as 'Charles' on LGF.

Nobody listens to chris thompson except diffident, do-nothing liberals who think it's transgressive to report that the Nation Of Islam is shady. Truly pathbreaking stuff.

Thompson has made a name for himself attacking black institutions in the Bay Area; we're all supposed to think he's uber-courageous for not towing the straw-man "PC line."

When not fixating on the Nation of Islam and the Black Reperatory Group, thompson busies himself issuing sniveling, faux world-weary criticisms of projects his pea-brain regards as "leftist." The thrust of his "analysis" invariably pivots on the assertion--whether explicitly stated or not--that the object of criticism isn't sufficiently cognizant and respectful of "how the world works"--meaning the world of capital. That thompson would be out of a job if he challenged the prerogatives of capital with precision and intelligence should go without saying.

People like thompson never make change, even on the anemic and atrophied terms they set for themselves.
