Democrats Anxious to Kill Schiavo

The Democratic Party is in a tirade, as is the left, they just want Terri Schiavo starved to death. Yes, starved to death, maybe before we rush to pull the tube.
We should all consider going a week or two without eating or drinking and feel the pangs of pain; can we know for sure she will not feel the pain?
All of a sudden, the Democratic Party agrees that a husband has a right to make a life and death decision on his wife? Hmm, do we have the same right if our wife decides in the 19th week of pregnancy? She no longer wants her fetus? Do I have say in that? Oh, of course not. I have no right to ask her to take the baby to term, give the child up to me and release all rights. She can abort it just out of being vindictive because it would bring me, the male love and happiness.
Terri Schindler Schiavo's husband wants her tube pulled, Democrats claim her husband. Despite the fact that for years he has lived and fathered children with another woman still has more rights than her biological parents.
Faithfullness to wives by Democrat leaders does not exactly go hand in hand. So I can see how a Democrat would consider a man having sex with another women while making decsions in his marriage as being normal

The same Senator who praised the increase of abortion clinics in Black neighborhoods would support the starvation of Terry Schiavo.
In light of recent observations of the relationships of Democratic Party Political leaders and their wives, Chappaquiddick Ted Kennedy, who left a pregnancy Mary Jo Kopechnie to die while he went to a hotel.
New Jersey Governor McGreevey who had sexual relations with a man while Governor. Put his wife on stage in humiliation while he defended his homosexual relationship.
Oregon Democrat Governor Goldschmidt who slept with an 8th grader while in his 40's. President Bill Clinton whom had a sexual affair in the White House and was accused by seven women of sexual abuse.
Now Democrats are saying that Michael Schiavo and Terry Schiavo are still married. Soem called Michael Schiavo a Devout Catholic. What? A devout catholic who has been living with another woman for almost a decade while having two kids with his out of wedlock
over.
This political party has not exactly been the most respectful to women or to the unborn.
The Democratic Party seems to spend much more time defending the rights of Terrorist prisoners, men on death row
and our military enemy than they do defending the rights of the unborn
If the Democrats are saying that starvation is not a painful death. Could one not say that we could eliminate poverty by not feeding the hungry?
I am a former Democrat who grew up in the Bronx and has seen how this political party is a party that is void of any emotion.
If the left loses this case. They will lose because congress has exercised article 3 and they cannot stand that.
As for Congress overstepping its countries. Congress is the one who set up these courts and has authority over them. Congress fears that this decision will lead to weakening abortion laws and the power of the filibuster in the House of Representatives.
The Democrats concern is not Terry Schiavo. It is the fear of losing power.
In the past many Democrats supported Blacks having less rights and Democrats supported slavery and depended on the judiciary to keep blacks impovershed and enslved.
Democrats have used the judicairy to keep abortion legal. Despite the afct taht most americans now oppose abortion.
Terry Schiavo's husband should just step aside and devote his life to his current lover, which he has been living with for many years in sin. Even fathering children with her. So are we now accepting polygamy?
Michael Schiavo seems to ahve abandoned his right to make a decision on Terry Schiavo to live or die.
A piece by an Attorney writer named Barbara Weller tells a story that there is still life in Terry Schiavo.
Barbara Weller, an attorney for Terri Schiavo's parents, told reporters Friday afternoon that during her visit earlier in the day she told Ms. Schiavo:
"Terri, if you would just say, 'I want to live,' - all of this will be over."
According to pro-life activist Randall Terry, who recounted the scene to radio host Sean Hannity, Schiavo tried desperately to repeat Weller's words.
"'I waaaaannt . . .' Schiavo allegedly said, in a prolonged yell that had police stationed nearby running into her hospice room.
"She just started yelling, 'I waaaannt, I waaaannt,'" Terry said, according to Weller's account.
At that point police ejected Weller, he said. Why would police eject Welelr?
How could they say she upset a "vegetable?"

As far as the rest of the post is concerned, my only comment is that most women who are in a happy, mutually supportive relationship do tend to incorporate decisions that revolve their reproductive capacity into the fabric of that relationship. Cases where they don't seem would seem to indicate that they can't...historically, the family has been a single woman with one or more children... the male hasn't been in evidence. I think it's great that the poster of this perspective feels that family planning should be a mutual endeavor. I urge him/her to think about supporting research into creating wider variety of male contraceptives...while they're at it, they should also start and participate in a series of workshops designed to raise awareness around the need for men to practice using birth control consistantly.
I guess the Republican position is that deliberately killing tens of thousands of Arabs is OK, but pulling the plug on one white woman is bad.
Only in a country with a media as quiescent as America's could people like Bush and the Republicans get away with such hypocrisy.

By now most people who read liberal blogs are aware that George W. Bush signed a law in Texas that expressly gave hospitals the right to remove life support if the patient could not pay and there was no hope of revival, regardless of the patient's family's wishes. It is called the Texas Futile Care Law. Under this law, a baby was removed from life support against his mother's wishes in Texas just this week. A 68 year old man was given a temporary reprieve by the Texas courts just yesterday.
Those of us who read liberal blogs are also aware that Republicans have voted en masse to pull the plug (no pun intended) on Medicaid funding that pays for the kind of care that someone like Terry Schiavo and many others who are not so severely brain damaged need all across this country.
Those of us who read liberal blogs also understand that that the tort reform that is being contemplated by the Republican congress would preclude malpractice claims like that which has paid for Terry Schiavo's care thus far.
Those of us who read liberal blogs are aware that the bankruptcy bill will make it even more difficult for families who suffer a catastrophic illness like Terry Schiavos because they will not be able to declare chapter 7 bankruptcy and get a fresh start when the gargantuan medical bills become overwhelming.
And those of us who read liberal blogs also know that this grandstanding by the congress is a purely political move designed to appease the religious right and that the legal maneuverings being employed would be anathema to any true small government conservative.
Those who don't read liberal blogs, on the other hand, are seeing a spectacle on television in which the news anchors repeatedly say that the congress is "stepping in to save Terry Schiavo" mimicking the unctuous words of Tom Delay as they grovel and leer at the family and nod sympathetically at the sanctimonious phonies who are using this issue for their political gain.
Many universities are called "leftist." Had you attended a university, you might have been exposed to simple facts about life, such as the fact that monogamy does not work (or does not exist) in many relationships. Or, when one member of a couple is very ill, oftentimes the person who is "well" does move on with his or her life.

A woman's choice whether or not to bring a possibly unwanted child into the world and a husband's choice to not keep alive the shell of a human being who does not (to Mr. Shiavo) appear to be rehabilitatable are very different things. It's one thing to raise a person from birth, but it is another thing to have to pay medical bills and visit a person who will never again be the same person who he married.

I was in disbelief as I read this comment. What on earth as what is happening in Iraq got to do with Terri's feeding tube being removed. "JUST ONE WHITE WOMEN HAVING THE PLUG PULLED", MY ASS. SHE WAS A DISABLED WOMEN WHO WAS DELIBERATELY STARVED & DEHYDRATED TO DEATH, IN AN HOSPICE BED, BECAUSE HER "HUSBAND" WOULDN'T LET HER PARENTS BECOME THE LEGAL GUARDIAN'S THEY INFACT ARE. Actually, the war in Iraq has EVERYTHING to do with it.
Bush, Delay and the Republicans promoted an invasion of Iraq that has killed tens of thousands of people, possibly over 100,000.
They did it based upon flagrant lies that have all since been refuted. It was evident from the beginning that they invaded Iraq because it presented no threat, and had no capacity to defend itself.
Now, they, and their Christian fundamentalist supporters, people who enthusiastically support this war, and the death and brutality that it has inflicted upon Iraqis, bleat about a "Culture of Life", a concept that apparently only applies to white Americans, or perhaps, to be even more accurate, Americans, such as Schiavo, whose predicament can be exploited by them for political advantage.
If they were just hypocrites, it wouldn't be that important, but when these hypocrites actually promote the killing of Iraqis as a good thing, and condemn anyone who points out the grosteque brutality of the conflict (indiscriminate killing of people at checkpoints, over 10,000 people still detained, gross instances of physical and sexual abuse of them, sometimes resulting in death, the leveling of an entire city, Falluja, in a manner reminiscent of what the Nazis did in Lidice in World War II), and then start bleating about how horrible it is that Terri Schiavo was allowed to die without medical treatment, they are not just hypocrites, they are a clear and present danger to people around the world.
