At the beginning there was lots of Rage Against the Machine, I think it was "Killing in the Name Of..." Rage is a bit trite at this point, don't you think? If I recall correctly there was also hip hop and later some techno?

§Ambulance tries to cut the crowd in half

Yeah, what a coincidence that an ambulance came through as the crowd was leaving. There weren't any other streets in the city that could be taken by this ambulance? Hard to believe that there was a real emergency other than trying to keep these marchers from using their first amendment rights

This is how you know that not all of the protesters were "anarchists" Some were New Men, I guess. (Che was a good communist)

there ended up being like 3 cops there, using their batons to try to push the kids back (to where?). Note that these folks are on the sidewalk.

Mahtin - you must be wearing an invisibility cloak again, or maybe just something other than a black sweatjacket? that allowed you to stand behind the officer in the last pictures who has a posture of a sumo wrestling match.
That is like the situation here where the photographer was allowed to stand right among angry police arresting people for crossing the line established by the police in the first picture with the second url by Union Square

Those linked to pictures are mine and it wasnt that hard to get behind the police lines to take them. While others use press passes, all I do is just keep my distance from the main crowd (which I have to do anyways to get good pictures since I dont have a wide angle lens). When the police close in on a crowd I get stuck on the other side of the line. Usually there are people carrying signs and banners who get trapped outside too so its not a matter of not looking suspicious, but more a matter of just keeping a little distance. Between having a good zoom and cropping the pictures many make it look like I was a lot closer to the arrests than I really was.

There is a Tom Waddell Health Center on Ivy Street, which is the back of the Health Department Building on Grove & Polk Streets. That is why you will often seen an ambulance there. This particular ambulance may have been able to avoid the rally if it was not actually engaged in emergency activity (in other words, not being used legally as an ambulance), but the ambulances do have to enter Ivy from Polk Street as it is one way going West.

hellohello,
this is a bit off topic but i think this is the best avenue to get some answers. I was hit to the ground on Valencia around the time those 9 brave men and women were arrested. As I was in the street I ran into a line of cops and was struck.Unfortunately, I was shooken up and quite baffled at the moment in which my conscious did not kick in and tell me to get the badge number or name of the cop. I was wondering if anyone had any
more footage..flics or video of anymore of the events that happened that day, so perhaps I can get his name or badge # to at the least file a complaint. I have some legal support, but it's up to me to get the info..so if anyone can help me out with resources that would
be greatly appreciated. much thanks.!
