Interview (video) with founder Rauda Morcos;
Come watch Rauda talk about: Gay Rights, Occupation, Systemic Change and Oppression.
Stay for Conversation and the Queer Arab Film Garden

ASWAT (voices) is a courageous and dynamic group of Queer Palestinian women who have decided to organize to challenge the status quo and to improve their own lives, and to hopefully secure equal rights for themselves and for those who come after them. ASWAT is the first and only queer group in Palestine. ASWAT is generating tremendous energy as they literately “make history” as the first group of Palestinian. Lesbian , Bi-Sexual, and Inter-sexual, women in the middle east. They meet regularly facilitating groups and produce political education for their communities. They are breaking silences in all of the communities they are a part of.

ASWAT has been asked to leave the center they have been based out of. They have asked the Radical International Community of Allies for financial support. They need money to have a center open that they will feel safe and welcome in. This is an amazing story or bravery in the face of extreme oppression from every angle, there is no better way you can spend Sunday night April 10th, 2005. Mark your calendar.

If you have any questions or can help with the event. Or you can do an event in your city, or you can send me donations which I will send to Palestine.
