March 11th brings the spoken word artist/performer/MC/author solidad decosta to the microphone. solidad is a mixed race herm/queer woman of black latina maternal ancestry. equal parts street journalist, storyteller and 40 something crone–ta–be with leo moon credentials, her work encompasses the why and where of life outside the boxes in a label obsessed world, and the what, when, who and how of everything else.
QUEER OPEN MIC is a rowdy rockin’ revolution meant for queers and allies of all stripes, colors, and affiliations to come together and share art, poems, thoughts, conversations, passions and a damn good cuppa joe. All donations benefit the performers and The Center.
Scheduled upcoming featured readers include: Jacob Perez (3/25,) Tim’m West & Transition (4/8), Thea Hillman (4/22), Meliza Banales (5/13), Ryka Aoki (5/27) and many many more!
SPECIFIC EVENT DETAILS:
