Oakland Military Recruiters Say Help Bring Home the Troops

Facing falling enlistment, an unjust war, and a brutal occupation without end, Oakland military recruiters turn to vandalism to promote their message – bring the troops home (by volunteering to be a replacement). I found this leaflet, and few more like it, glued to one of the historic lampposts circling the Lake Merritt walkway on the evening of March 7. It was affixed rather well with a heavy-duty spray adhesive.

Please! I suppose no one will ever put up another flyer on a lampost to advertise your next event. Or is it that you just disagree with the message, so now it's "vandalism"? I suggest we all do our part and rip down everything we can find. We don't want any "vandalism" in our neighborhoods, now do we? And that goes for ANSWER's Mar 19 hatefest.

To me this is good news and gives hope that despite the 24/7 propaganda put out by the Bush Whitehouse, even kids aren't falling for the lies.

And I wonder how long before someone turns an auto-dialer loose on those phone numbers? At a buck a call that 877 number can really add up.

§Draft congress and the twins!

Actually, I would love to see these flyers posted all over the Capitol in DC. Let all those congressmen and senators sign up to go to Iraq and replace the poor kids Iraq. That or perhaps all of us can just refuse to cooperate with the corporate/banking elite who are profiting so greatly from this disaster.
