DETAILS:

Farm Sanctuary, a leading farm animal shelter and advocacy organization, is hosting its Farm Animal Forum in Boston, March 13-14 to address the elimination of factory farming cruelty. The Forum comes to Boston at a time when two bills are currently in play at the Massachusetts State Legislature that would ban the force feeding of ducks for foie gras production and eliminate confinement in veal crates for calves and gestation crates for breeding pigs.

Media are invited to attend two key events during the Forum - the Sunday evening "Cowtail" party social and the Rally Against Factory Farming the following morning. Speakers at the forefront of today's farm animal protection movement that are available for interviews include Gene Bauston, president of Farm Sanctuary, Wayne Pacelle, chief executive officer of the Humane Society of the United States, Carter Luke, vice president of humane services at the MSPCA, lauren Ornelas, executive director of Viva! USA, Holly Cheever, D.V.M., vice president of AVAR and NYSHA, Brenda Davis, R.D., noted vegan nutritionist and Michael Greger, M.D., Farm Sanctuary's Chief Investigator of Mad Cow Disease.
