closing of Sonoma Saveurs celebrated!
Although drizzly at times....nothing could rain on this parade!
The closing of the foie gras entrenched restaurant Sonoma Saveurs was cause for activists to come from far and wide to celebrate!
The closing of the foie gras entrenched restaurant Sonoma Saveurs was cause for activists to come from far and wide to celebrate!
Our guest of honor... the giant duck...Nathan...was a great eye catcher along this tourist street.
As tourists and locals ambled by, they were treated to vegan pate', leaflets of info regarding the cruelties of foie gras, party horns and sparkling cider. The cruelties being shown on the Body TV were not a damper on the upbeat event....it added a thoughtful reminder as to why we were there.
Sipping sparkling cider and chatting and debating, and being applauded by passersby...we stayed 2 hours and at the end released the bouquet of balloons as a symbolic liberation for all animals ..including foie gras ducks and geese...everywhere.
The previous owners of this restaurant, are also part owners of Sonoma foie gras...and just one of the "ring" of restaunteurs who serve the cruel foie gras on their bloody plates.
