PDC Denounces Government Conspiracy Against Everyone's Rights, Demands:
"Fight the Frame-up of Lynne Stewart,
Mohamed Yousry and Ahmed Abdel Sattar!"
The government’s victory in the Lynne Stewart trial is, as Lynne Stewart herself said outside New York City’s federal courthouse on February 10, "the beginning of a longer struggle.” All three defendants—veteran leftist lawyer Lynne Stewart, her translator Mohamed Yousry and paralegal Ahmed Abdel Sattar—were convicted on all counts in a frame-up trial. Stewart and Yousry face decades behind bars on charges of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorism and conspiring to defraud the U.S. government. Abdel Sattar could face life imprisonment on the more serious charge of conspiracy to “kill and kidnap persons in a foreign country.” The defendants plan to appeal.
Even the government admitted that not a single act of violence arose from this alleged terror conspiracy. All Lynne Stewart did was publicize a statement by her client, the blind Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman—who is imprisoned for life on conspiracy charges stemming from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing—against a cease-fire between the Islamic Group and the Mubarak dictatorship in Egypt.
The Partisan Defense Committee, a legal and social defense organization associated with the Marxist Spartacist League, understands that the political implications of this conviction threaten the rights of everyone. PDC spokesman Kevin Gilroy stated: "The verdict opens the door to the government prosecuting lawyers for the alleged crimes of their clients, rendering void the right to effective counsel. If people can't get a lawyer to zealously defend them from prosecution, because the lawyers themselves are afraid of being prosecuted, then fundamental liberties, from the right to a trial and an attorney, to even the right of free speech and assembly, are threatened. In this racist, anti-immigrant, post-September 11 climate, Mohamed Yousry and Abdel Sattar, both American citizens, were pre-judged guilty by reason of being Arab."
Gilroy charged: "The U.S. government is the world's biggest terrorists. They're the ones who should be tried by their victims for, among other things, arming, financing and training the Islamic fundamentalist mujahedin, including Osama bin Laden's 'training camps,' to kill Soviet soldiers in Afghanistan. Bin Laden was behind the destruction of the Twin Towers in the criminal attack that killed thousands on September 11, 2001, when the Pentagon was also hit. The U.S. government prosecuted Sheik Abdel Rahman in part to cover its own bloody tracks."
The PDC calls for mobilizing the tremendous social power of the working class to fight in defense of all victims of capitalist injustice, and in so doing, advance the struggle for a society where those who labor rule. Just as the prosecution of Lynne Stewart has ominous implications, so too does powerful protest against it have broader portent. The American labor movement has every interest in fighting against this conviction. All defenders of democratic rights and civil liberties should be mobilized behind the power of the multiracial working class. Put otherwise, the PDC says, "her fight is ours and yours."
The Stewart trial verdict comes in the context of increased attacks by the Bush White House—and the Democrats—on civil liberties. In power is a dangerously demented regime that wants to brand every protest against its policies de facto “terrorism.” What next? Is publishing a column by Mumia Abu-Jamal—who was framed up effectively as a “terrorist” for his political views—“material support to terrorism”? How about buying his books? What about signing a petition on behalf of Irish nationalist IRA or Basque ETA prisoners?
The irregularities in this seven-month trial could fill several very large tomes. The judge allowed highly inflammatory and utterly irrelevant “evidence” to be presented by the prosecution. Everyone admitted that the charges had nothing to do with the September 11 attacks. But in the very week of the anniversary, the prosecution was allowed to screen a videotape for the jury of Osama bin Laden speaking. As Lynne Stewart said, “When you put Osama bin Laden in a courtroom and ask the jury to ignore it, that’s asking a lot.”
The Partisan Defense Committee understands that dirty tricks and frame-ups are the stock in trade of the “justice” system. There are contradictions between the formal guarantees of freedom and the reality of capitalist state repression. While strongly believing in using every legal means available to defend democratic rights, the PDC places all its confidence in the class struggle, not the courts. The courts are not neutral, but an integral part of the capitalist state, which masks the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie with eyewash about equality before the law in a society where those who own the means of production make the laws to rule over those whose labor they exploit.

It is amazing that an organization like the Sparaticist League/Partisan Defense Committee filled with intellectuals has not even done such basic reading as Crossing the Rubicon by Michael Ruppert and The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions by David Ray Griffin.
It is also amazing that they obviously did not analyze what happened on 9/11/01 as they watched it on TV:
THE US AIR DEFENSE COULD EASILY HAVE STOPPED THE FIRST PLANE CRASH much less all the rest, UNLESS THEY WERE TOLD TO STAND DOWN, and only the president, vice-president and secretary of defense could do that.
We have massive documentation that 9 of the so-called hijackers are alive; the planes were on automatic pilot,guided by the US military, as they are now using drones to fly over Iran.
The Twin Towers, and Building 7, not hit by a plane, were all brought down by construction explosives in seconds, in their own footprint, in pieces small enough to be carted away, which they were immediately, to hide the evidence. The Pentagon was also damaged by construction explosives. Larry Silverstein, the primary lessor of Building 7, admitted Building 7 was brought down by construction explosives. The Towers were shut down the weekend before 9/11/01 supposedly to rewire the building for cables for computers, which is when the explosives were set.
The US military shot down the plane over Pennsylvania.
As Ruppert describes in minute detail, it was VP Cheney who directed all of this from his bunker at the White House.
This was a Reichstag Fire, perpetrated by the Nazi USA Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld-Rice government, for the same reason the Nazis burned down their own government building: to perpetrate fascism at home and war abroad.
George Dimitrov, a Bulgarian communist, falsely accused of the burning down the Reichstag, WON HIS ACQUITTAL by proving that the NAZIS burned down their government building.
Osama bin Laden is a CIA agent, known for his services to the CIA in Afghanistan, whose family has business dealings with the Bush family through the Carlyle Group, who is the pre-arranged fall guy.
THIS WAS THE CIA'S OPERATION NORTHWOODS REALIZED, an plan approved by the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1962 to carry out agent provocateur actions like blowing up a US plane and blaming it on Cuba, so as to have an excuse to invade Cuba.
Flying planes into the World Trade Center was a computer game on the market for 17 years before 9/11/01.

Does the Sparaticist League think this CIA agent, living on a kidney dialysis machine, supposedly sitting in a cave in Afghanistan, somehow directed some disgruntled Arab men, all devout Muslims who are somehow also alcoholics and play with prostitutes, to somehow take over huge, heavy planes for which they are not trained to fly, somehow evade US air defenses, and somehow manage to guide these huge, fast planes into buildings? THIS IS THE GOVERNMENT'S ABSURD STORY.
DOES THE SPARTACIST LEAGUE BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT'S ABSURD STORY? If so, then the Spartacist League is profoundly backward. What do you think you saw on TV on September 11, 2001? Do you think American air defense is incapable of stopping hijackings? Do you think buildings collapse in seconds because an airplane hit them? As to Lynne Stewart, we all support her and her co-defendants. It is obviously a frame-up. We are horrified at all of these lynch mob juries. The sentencing has been postponed to September and Lynne Stewart has correctly called for shutting down New York on that day, if in fact there is a sentencing in September. The legal community is in an uproar over this case, which is probably why the sentencing was postponed.
ANY ORGANIZATION THAT PROMOTES THE GOVERNMENT'S LIE ABOUT THE 9/11/01 MURDER INSTEAD OF THE TRUTH, NAMELY THAT IT WAS AN INSIDE JOB, STAGED BY THE US GOVERNMENT, IS NOT WORTH TWO CENTS.

It is comments like those above that have people fleeing from these boards.
Online discussions are bound to draw in people with crazy irrational views. Only people who feel insecure with their own sanity flee when confronted by irrational views. If you think there isa risk of views you find to be irrational spreading you can try to debunk them, but if they are so out there you think no sane person would find the argument believable you can just act as you would at a party by nodding your head a few times and saying "that's rally interesting" before backing away from the crazy person and talking to someone else (I mean why argue or demean when its not going to lead anywhere?)
