An Alameda man pleaded guilty Wednesday to his role in the
cultivation of thousands of marijuana plants at a West Oakland
warehouse.
Mario Pacetti, 33, declined to comment after entering his plea
before U.S. District Judge D. Lowell Jensen in Oakland. Jensen will
sentence Pacetti on June 3 on a charge of using a place for the
manufacture of marijuana.
California Highway Patrol officers discovered the marijuana during a
June 30 raid at 2638 Market St. in West Oakland.
Pacetti is the first of five defendants facing felony charges to
plead guilty. Two other defendants face misdemeanor charges of
possession of marijuana.
A federal grand jury indicted Pacetti on Thursday on another charge
of making a second location -- 2635 East 11th St. in East Oakland --
available for marijuana growing.
