Left Turn New Issue Release Party
Featuring the documentary, “Leaded...Unleaded”, a Beirut Indymedia production never seen in the US before which captures impoverished Lebanese citizens and Arab refugees (Palestinian, Iraqi and Egyptian) in Beirut struggling in the streets against the Lebanese government. This amazing footage covers a recent uprising in Hay As Selloum, a working class area of Beirut against rising fuel prices, privatization, widespread unemployment and other affects of neo-liberalism. The clashes between protesters and police resulted in 5 protesters dead and the Ministry of Labor burned to the ground.
