NYC IMC Censors Article
NYC Indymedia censors article 30 minutes after it appears.
Does anyone still think that Indymedia represents radicalism? At New York IMC, one can expect rapid censorship that would have pleased Stalin.
In pic #1, the article '911 and the Society of the Spectacle' appears in the local newswire at 09:56 a.m. on 2/4/2005. (The webserver incorrectly says 10:56 a.m.)
In pic #2, the article has been removed.
In pic #3, I've overlaid my computer's system time to convey the SPEED with which NYC censors material.
Censorship is un-American!!

IMC Network
Am I right?
The have a problem at NYC IMC and they know it.
That is Radical!!! usually they just IndyMedia just censors positive statemtns about jews and Israel!!
Our moderation policy was reached by consensus and is carried out by volunteers on their own time.
The New York City IMC regularly produces videos, has a weekly show broadcast on local cable and satelite, plus a bi-weekly newspaper. We are media-makers, not conspiracy theorists.
Hiding these materials is not censorship since they obviously have other platforms from which to speak. Considering we actually saw the planes hit the towers (I did personally), posting up fictitious materials that say otherwise would be unethical.
I also think that Indymedias should hide posts which seek to attack and delegitimize other autonomous sites in the network. But that is just my opinion.
