can someone please stop him from accepting this award? he's got to go down for this, and so does vegnewscrap.com for inviting him.

I'm tired of him signing on to social and activist efforts, winning cheap support, while continuing to take his racist and economic repression behind the scenes.
by adamantly pro-choice
While he was aggressively out garnering much S.F. white gay support during the presidential elections with gay marriages (boosting his own future prospects? -- and to think that all the Dems were harping on Nader!), Gavin Newson racistly turned the S.F.'s Bay View / Hunter's Point district into 'Black Fallujah': this, as he let the SFPD rampage through there and terrorize the black residents with road blocks, check points, searching every car, stopping every black male even on foot, under an IMMENSELY _MASSIVE_ police occupation back last summer.
by SF Tenant Voter
Election-fraud "mayor" Gavin Newsom, who sits illegally in office courtesy his Democratic Party's massive election fraud, is first and foremost anti-tenant and anti-rent control. He is completely bought and paid for by the landlord and real estate lobby. The litmus test class struggle issue in San Francisco is rent control.

For more on the Democrats' election fraud (the same as the Republicans, as they support the same Chamber of Commerce mayors and the same Stadium Swindles), see
http://www.brasscheck.com/stadium
and
http://whttp://www.brasscheck.com/jonestown

Besides election-fraud and being a lickspittle of the landlord interests, he is, as stated above, a proud promoter of the racist police state and of the private power utility, PG&E, so as to force the departure of the workingclass of San Francisco, allowing the real estate racketeers to gentrify all the workingclass neighborhoods. That is the meaning of his police state in Bayview-Hunters Point and his refusal to tell PG&E to shut down the stinking, cancer-causing power plant.

Since these vegans are part of the environmental movement, especially the tree-sitter, Julia Hill, what are they doing being pals with Nazi Newsom? How many of these articles have to be written before everyone gets the message? I can assure you the tenants of San Francisco are very aware of his con game with his gay marriage promotion and have despise it. Nazi Newsom knows that 75% of the voters in San Francisco support gay marriage, including most tenants, so he could play his opportunist games with an easy issue in San Francisco, while he shows total contempt for all tenants, gay and straight.

Wake up the crowd at this fundraiser!

they're also giving taco bell, against who there's been a boycott in effect for several years, an award for best vegan-friendly fast food restaurants. clearly, this vegnews bullshit does not see the connection between animal liberation and human liberation, even though one of the main arguments for veganism is anti-industry and pro-labor.

Newsom accepting a vegitarian award while his Plumpjack cafe is serving foie gras? An award to Taco bell? I think I'll give these idiots a call. editor [at] vegnews.com

This sounds like more elitist crap. $40 for a plate of veggies that cost 99 cents???

Sounds like Veggienewscrap.com needs a lesson on class divisions in American society.
by mary
anti-union whole foods for "best national natural foods store." people should urge rainbow not to accept their award for "best local natural foods store," based on rainbow's ethics of workers rights and vegetarianism.
