J 13- Saucedo leads protesters into SF City Hall

by Tortuga Bi LIBERTY (SaveFreedom [at] yahoogroups.com)
Save SF community health clinics, including Tom Waddell! Raise PG&E's franchise fee! Stop wasting funds to criminalize sexworkers and the homeless!
Supervisor candidate Renee Saucedo tried to lead protesters (mostly Latino/Latina) into the SF Mayor's office,
around 10AM on a bitterly cold Thursday morning, 13 January 2005.

They got into City Hall, but were stopped at the outer door
of his office suite.
So they held a "press conference" (more like a rally)
just outside the closed door.

Their demands include funds for AIDS/HIV programs, at-home nursing,
neighborhood medical clinics (especially Tom Waddell), etc.

Among the Mayor's budget cuts is the "Senior Escort Program",
which allows frail elders to
get to the bank, supermarket, or doctor.
Without this vital life-line, many
independent elders will wind up in nursing "homes",
as de facto prisoners.
