Temple Grandin at Cody's 1/18

by R.P.Belsher
Temple Grandin is scheduled to be present and presenting at Cody's Books on Telegraph in Berkeley, Tuesday, Jan 18 at 7:30.
TEMPLE GRANDIN on ANIMALS IN TRANSLATION. Ten years ago, Oliver Sacks wrote a profile for The New Yorker about an extraordinary woman whose triumph over her developmental disorder was profound but who still felt completely alienated from human emotion and interaction. With people, she said, she is a self-proclaimed "anthropologist on Mars"; among animals, however, she is completely at home. Although autistic, Grandin earned a doctorate in animal science and went on to become a professor of animal science, and one of the most celebrated and effective animal advocates in the world. Temple Grandin has redefined society's perception of what is possible for autistics. Her new book is subtitled Using the Mysteries of Autism to Decode Animal Behavior, its perspective is unlike no other, and it may revolutionize the way you understand how animals think and feel. 7:30 PM at Telegraph Avenue
