January 20: Inauguration Day
NOT OUR PRESIDENT! NOT IN OUR NAME!
---------------------------------------
On January 20th, the day George W. Bush is inaugurated, Not in Our Name is planning
a massive day of protest declaring "NO" to Bush and all he represents. In addition
to a massive poster and media campaign--and building for an outpouring of resistance
in the streets of San Francisco that evening--we are calling for groups and
individuals to choose an intersection or overpass to hold a banner during the
morning commute that morning to greet commuters with a very visible repudiation!
"Not Our President!" is the suggested theme.
Help make it happen!

Still waiting for the "resistance" and the "revolution". Yawn.

I am certainly opposed to Bush and all his reactionary policies but I have yet to hear what anyone intends to do on a freezing cold week night at the end of a week day, when we are all tired and hungry. Do you expect people to stand on the hard cold cement in the miserable, windy Civic Center listening to endless speeches, and then perhaps, walk somewhere, perhaps the Mission District? This has no appeal. Why couldn't you combine this demonstration with our pro-abortion on Saturday, January 22, when more people can appear as it is the weekend and a daytime demonstration? After all, you must realize that here in San Francisco, unlike Washington, it does not matter what day we demonstrate against Bush, so we may as well do it on a day to maximize turnout.
Pro-abortion protest and counter inauguration protest combined together?
I’m sorry but I just can’t advocate the killing of thousands of unborn children at the same time I hold a sign in my hand that says George W. Bush is a baby killer!
It is complete hypocrisy what these people who call them selves liberals do these days.
I just put away all this left and right bullshit and think for myself. You have a mind. You’re conscience tells you when you are wrong. If you feel guilty you probably are.
Bush: okay to kill life after it has been born = Murder
Protestor: okay to kill life before it’s born = Murder
To me there is no difference.
There's no such thing as an "unborn chil." A child, by definition, has been born. Before that, it's a fetus, i.e., a part of it's mother's body. What she does with her own body is nobody's business but hers. Butt out.
How can you kill something before it's born?
Born: Brought into life by birth. Brought into existence; created.
You can't kill something that hasn't been "brought into life" yet. If it's not killing, it's not murder.

Right to Lifer: OK to kill someone by taking away their choice of what to do with their body when it's been raped, molested and abused. OK to send them back to the back-alley butchers, or force them to have an unwanted baby. = MORAL IGNORANCE
When the right to lifers have taken care of all the existing children in the world who are starving and unwanted, they can talk. But their hypocritcal support for Bush's policies help to create these children, and guarantee them a life of misery.

CORRECTION: Not in Our Name Bay Area is asking folks to meet up with our contingent for this ANSWER initiated march and rally at SF Civic Center at 5 pm -- NOT at Powell and Market as published above.
