On Saturday, September 25, 2004, there was a protest at Vandenberg Air Force Base in northern Santa Barbara County as part of the International Week of Protest to Stop the Militarization of Space.

The May 21 protest at Vandenberg Air Force Base with Kathy Kelly
will meet at Ryan Park in Lompoc (six miles from the front gate)
to carpool to the front gate which is at the intersection of Highway One and Casamilia-Lompoc Road. There is parking availlable at the Vandenberg Middle school parking lot (across the street from the front gate) Please check the web site at http://www.vpeaceldf.org for last minute updates. After the rally go to Ryan Park (corner of Ocean and O street) in Lompoc for food and music. On May 22 in Santa Barbara there will be a Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space organizing conference with pleanary speakers Bill Sulzman of Citizens for Peace in Space and Andy Lichterman of the Western States Legal Foundation. The conference is from 10 am to 3 pm at 40 E Anapumu St in Santa Barbara, to register call MacGregor Eddy at 831 754 5554 or email mindful [at] redshift.com
