What does dancing have to do with anarchy?
Don't you realize how messed up the LH is?

The Long Haul is no more messed-up than any other group or space.
It still manages to pay rent, have events, and be a relatively safe space for people who go in there. What is your problem with the Long Haul?

really, the long haul is no more, nor no less messed up than any other group/space. this is a fucked up world, do you expect non-fucked up people to be at the long haul just because it is a radical project????
if you have specific critiques to make of LH please say so, just spewing vague attitude does not help us in any way.

Well, unfortunately Berkeley's Measure Q which would permit medical marijuana dispensaries to locate wherever they can find a place to rent failed to pass recently, and this means that the MJ people will continue to occupy the Long Haul during daytime hours, which significantly depresses the potential of the space because normal people who are new to town come to the storefront and it usually isn't open or they look through the window and there are paranoid people pacing around wondering why you would be there.
well, that is true.
The quintessential Anarchist MagazineMother Earth published by Emma Goldman from 1903~1918 often held fund-raising balls, masquerades, festivals, and even an ice-cream social in an effort to keep financially afloat.
Plus they were a helluva a lot of fun, (at least the ones that weren't broken up by the police).
You all might find this semi-humorous conversation about the party.

I personally don't have any problem with the LH. I think its a great resource. I hope that people come to the dance party anyway!
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
