Whole Foods funds foundation for compassionate treatment of animals
Whole Foods Markets, which operates 166 stores in the United States, Canada and Great Britain, will donate 5 percent of its gross receipts from all stores on January 25th to create the Animal Compassion Foundation.
It expects to donate about $500,000 as seed money to establish the foundation, which will work with farmers and ranchers to develop best practices, fund scientific research and build an online library for interested ranchers.
"The mission of the Animal Compassion Foundation is to help develop techniques of animal husbandry that supercede even the best practices found today," said Margaret Wittenberg, Whole Foods'vice president, governmental and public affairs, who will chair the foundation.

as long as they're nice to the bunnies.
we dont care much for humans anyways, truth be told. they are bad animals.
