To say, "Violence would just bring us down to their level," flies in the face of logic.

“Level”!?! Gimme a break. To confront Nazis only nonviolently is just plain stupid. It can even be suicidal.

Violence and non violence are not on different levels. Neither is one inherently superior to the other. In some situations, violence is the best course of action. In other situations, non violence is the best course of action. In some situations, violence is the *only* course of action. Whether to employ violence or non violence is a tactical decision to be made by the people directly effected.

What happened at Treblinka is only one example of how Nazis can be confronted. What happened at York is another, What happened at Greensboro is a third. There are many, many more. Each is an individual case. The correct tactical response to each individual case must be ascertained by an objective analysis of its own unique characteristics. An objective analysis is impossible for anyone suffering the absurd delusion that violence and non violence exist on different levels. They are not only on the same level, they are the same thing. Each is a tactical response to the facts on the ground. A response is a response. A good response is one that works, and by which we gain more than we lose. It’s not a moral choice. It’s a pragmatic one. To attempt to relate to, let alone confront, armed and organized enemies in any way but the most pragmatic one possible is how fools act. All too often, it is also how fools die.
