CODEPINK:Women for Peace is throwing a Mad Voter Pink Tea Party, a gala event to celebrate the outstanding work of countless Americans to defend our democracy and defeat the Bush regime in the past election. We will lift the spell of depression, hopelessness, and fear that is permeating our communities.
We will be awarding “pink badges of courage” to Bay Area activists who went above and beyond the call of civil duty in their work on election issues. Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Codepink and Global Exchange, will MC the evening. Musical and spoken word performances will include Valerie Orth and Chola Priest. A live auction will feature autographed anti-Bush pink slips, framed vintage jazz posters, and donations and gift certificates from the Bay Area’s finest restaurants, spas, and retail stores.
Preceding the awards ceremony, we will hold a reception with food, music, and a silent auction from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
You are invited to join us for this empowering and inspiring evening of entertainment and festivity.
Tickets are priced at $10--$10,000 donation. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Tickets can be purchased directly from Codepink, at many local bookstores, and online at http://www.virtuous.com.
Childcare will be provided.

Please call 510.524.2776 or email itsherbiz@yahoo.com for further information, to reserve childcare and to arrange interview appointments.
