Did age of terror in USA begin 41 years ago?
And do you understand this knock-knock joke?
?QK?traditional November 22 joke:
"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"You've forgotten already?"
...........
If you don't understand this olde-tyme joke,
please ask an elder.
Today's young Americans all remember where they were on Nine Eleven.
Likewise, most members of my generation remember where we were on
22 November 1963.
On that date the current age of terror began,
in my queer opinion (IMQO),
though most Yanks believe it began in 2001.
Marking this grim anniversary,
I'm sending a handwritten postcard to Nancy Pelosi,
Minority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives.
[ Doh? Why, in this age of e-mail, would I use obsolete snail-mail; especially to Congress, which has been wary of snail-mail ever since the anthrax deaths? And why would I hand-write, instead of using my trusty olde "typewriter" (forgotten ancestor of the keyboard)? Because I heard on public radio that politicians ignore emails; since an email is so easily sent to multiple recipients, and so easily copied from canned sources.
But perhaps, just possibly, their staffpersons might actually read a hand-written letter from a constituent, which is likely to be in the voter's own words. ]
Anyway, here's my postcard to Our SF Nancy:
"..... In this age of terror, should the House abandon
its tradition of adjourning SINE DIE ?
Should the House merely recess,
subject to the call of the Speaker?....."
If any reader has an opinion on this proposal,
please convey your view to:
The Honorable Nancy Pelosi
Democratic Leader
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, DC 20515

here's another knock-knock clue:

Perhaps they haven't heard the story about JFK, who had a strong appetite for sex, spending a weekend on a boat with a woman and a gay man; engaging with both of them.
( Back then, the mainstream press didn't publish what they privately knew about the sex lives of presidents or other politicians. )
