Green Party candidate David Cobb is set to pay for Ohio recount
• The latest: It looks as if Ohio will have a recount of its presidential vote, courtesy of Green Party candidate David Cobb.
The state allows candidates to demand a recount if they pay for it -- about $113,000 for a statewide race. Cobb's campaign announced it raised $150,000 in just four days, entirely in online donations.

• Question of integrity: Cobb was hardly a factor in the Ohio presidential election. He failed to get on the Nov. 2 ballot and got just a handful of write-in votes. President Bush won the state by about 136,000 votes over Sen. John Kerry, according to the unofficial results, in what turned out to be a crucial state in the election.
Cobb spokesman Blair Bobier said the campaign was less concerned with changing the outcome of the race than with investigating rumors of voter fraud. "We're doing it to protect the integrity of the voting process," he said.
• Provisional votes: In the 11 Ohio counties that have finished checking provisional ballots cast in the presidential election, 81 percent have turned out to be valid. It is too early to know whether the ballots have benefited Bush or Kerry because counties first need to determine their validity before conducting the count.

§a correction
Top be correct, the recount is a joint effort between Cob of the GREEN PARTY and Michael Badnarik of the Libertarian Party. The LP was on the ballot in Ohio. I am not in any way connected with any electoral party; i just wanted to set the record straight.
