Video Riot 3 "Last Gasp of Freedom"

Now in its third year, San Francisco's annual video riot is drawing a lot of attention. Video artists come from all over the Bay Area and beyond to transform an entire inner city wall into a gigantic drive-in theater. The wall becomes a montage of numerous video projections, lasers and a low power FM station transmitting the soundscape for the event.
This year’s theme, “Last Gasp of Freedom,” comes in the wake of the recent Presidential election here in the United States of America. In one of the Bluest parts of the entire country, it is no surprise that video artist would want to make a statement to the nation in the way they are most fluent. Now it its third year, the Video Riot has lasted the previous four years of the incumbent regime and will have to preserver through the next term.
The event organizers must have done their home work, the police presence for the event was pleasantly safe. The amount of local acceptance for the event was a reassuring sign that the Bay Area is the right place for artists to express themselves.
