Time: 6:00 pm/evening departure on Friday, leaving Wildwood around noon on Sunday (other departure/arrival times may be negotiable) Place: Wildwood Retreat Center, near Guerneville. Cost: FREE Wildwood is a special interest (mostly queer) retreat center up in the mountains above Guerneville, 1.5 hours drive north of San Francisco. They periodically have work weekends where fabulous volunteers can help them prepare for their busy seasons by helping out with construction projects, working in their gardens, helping with clean up, and doing maintenance work. It involves lots of power tools and getting dirty in all the right ways. Q-Force will be taking a group of young queer people ages 18-28 up as a group. So if this sounds like you, drop us a line and RSVP! Wildwood gives us cabins to stay in for free. Plus they feed us for free (we usually bring some food of our own to help out here). Plus they have hiking trails, and a hot tub, and a swimming pool, and a talent show, and beautiful scenery, and lots of chances for bonding with great people (including all the young queer activists that go up there with Q-Force). This will be a really awesome weekend, and it will basically cost you nothing beyond chipping in a couple of bucks to help your driver pay for gas (we’ll provide the drivers and transportation from SF and the East Bay).
