Democrat AG Lockyer Attacks Abortion Right with Peterson Prosecution

what makes you so certain Scott Peterson is innocent. And did not Scott, who killed Laci, deprive her of her right to choose to give birth??? Certainly it appears the author of this post does not support women's right to choose, or even womans right to live.

Why is this still up? The only motive for a "Peterson is innocent" post is that it is a rightist agent, masquarding as a women's rights activist, to discredit progressives.

A legal case is best studied carefully. Before you commence the study of the details, you should be aware of a few things:
1. Death Penalty Anti-Abortion Democrat Lockyer is running for governor.
2. The Democrats are, as usual, wooing the fascist vote to win, which is always a failure, but they do not care because at least capitalism wins and the Reds are kept out of office.
3. This case is so weak that it would never have had charges brought, much less come to trial, if it were not for the abortion issue.
4. When the capitalist press actively promotes this case as being one of concern for an "unborn child," you know something stinks with the prosecution's case. This false concern for the fetus is the line of the political opportunist, which is what Lockyer and his despicable party are, and the Republicans' anti-abortion position also stinks.
5. The police routinely lie to win convictions. It is so common it is called testilying.
6. While Scott Peterson may seem rich to most of us, to the ruling class they are paupers and thus fair game for being sent to prison or executed for the advancement of one of them to the governor's position, a position that is better described as Chairman of the Board of California Big Business.
7. Most murders are never solved. The concern to appear to solve this one, and only one person was murdered, is obviously contrived.

-- Scott Peterson wanted a baby so badly that he took breaks from work to get his wife pregnant when tests showed she was ovulating. He painstakingly outfitted the baby's nursery in a nautical theme, building some of the ornamentation by hand.

-- Laci Peterson's family and friends initially supported Peterson and turned on him only when they found out about his affair with Fresno masseuse Amber Frey. Suddenly, they remembered that Peterson acted oddly on the day his wife disappeared.

-- Police fabricated a theory that Peterson had made multiple anchors with a bag of concrete to weigh down his wife's body in San Francisco Bay. Peterson used the concrete to make one anchor, which was found on the boat, and the rest to patch his driveway."

-- Peterson had $15,000 and his brother's identification on him when he was arrested because his mother had bought his truck from him for her other son. He had his brother's driver's license to save money on his greens fees at a San Diego municipal golf course. The golf course gives discounts to residents, and Peterson's brother lives in San Diego County.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE POINTS, MUCH LESS THE COMBINATION, IS GROUNDS FOR APPEAL AND TOSSING THE ENTIRE DESPICABLE VERDICT.

There was no confession, no eyewitness and no weapon. And clearly,as the defense arguments make clear, there was no motive. He was preparing for the arrival of the child. To sit on a jury and convict with such a weak case means the jurors are a lynch mob, and that is sufficient grounds for tossing the entire conviction.

Any lingering doubt means there should have been no conviction.

And finally, the whole issue of prisons as any kind of option arises. So long as there is no rehabilitation, prisons are not an option. Prisons, in fact, along with the death penalty, should be abolished.

We pay for the whole rotten prison, death penalty, police and court system, none of which have anything to do with justice and all of which have everything to do with terrorizing and oppressing the workingclass for the employment, advancement and enrichment of the capitalist class and their lackeys, including but not limited to police, prison guards, and the entire judicial system.

What is most amazing is that anyone who considers themselves to be a radical would fall for this anti-abortion, pro-death penalty publicity stunt, paid for with our tax dollars, on the part of a candidate for governor, Death Penalty, Anti-Abortion Democrat Attorney General Bill Lockyer.

The death penalty is wrong, stupid, immoral, counter-productive.

Those facts has nothing to do with what Scott Peterson did to his wife.

It is imperative that you read the legal analysis. There is no case against Scott Pederson. To support the government's lies is to be as reactionary as the government is. You do not decide a case on the basis of your impression of anyone. You decide it on the facts. There is no evidence that proves Scott Pederson murdered anyone. That is what is needed to convict a person of murder.

As to who is doing what, it is the supporters of the government's lies who are torturing, and possibly murdering Pederson if he gets the death penalty, who are guilty of heinous crimes. This man's wife was murdered and he is falsely accused of murdering her. This is a horrifying nightmare that no one should have to face.

Lockyer is not just a jerk; he is a profoundly reactionary attorney general who is willing to frame anyone on murder charges, attack our right to abortion, have someone convicted for the murder of a fetus as a person, and promote the death penalty, all for his personal gain, and HE IS A DEMOCRAT. Seems to me that Scott Peterson was got a fair trial and was convicted. It's not a particularly reactionary belief to support the punishment of convicted murderers.

I, for one, believe that MURDER should be illegal in our society.

The fact that there was an unborn fetus in the case has very little to do with anything. He was tried and convicted on the evidence that he murdered his wife.

And you know what? I'm completely pro-Choice, but I think in the sentencing of Peterson, it *should* be noted that his wife was pregnant. It makes the murder all the more cruel. Construing that notion as an endorsement of the "rights" of the fetus is absurd; it's not the "rights" of the fetus which are in question -- it's the right of a pregnant woman not to be murdered.

Death Penalty, Anti-Abortion Democrat Attorney General Lockyer would never have brought charges in a case with no evidence if it were not for his campaign for governor, in which he is clearly going for the fascist vote by attacking our right to abortion.

The legal system does not exist to fight crime; it exists to terrorize the workingclass so as to advance the careers of the upper middle class and enrich the capitalist class. The prosecution, whether it be the attorney general's office or the district attorney, is the murderous arm of the capitalist class. The Death Penalty Is Wrong For America's Image

The United States of America is now built upon an idea of machismo. Rightly or wrongly, it plays the part of a schoolyard bully. It pushes other countries around at its convenience. Sometimes for good, sometimes for bad.
The death penalty plays only one purpose. It kills the bad-guy. (At great expense to the taxpayer.) This killing serves only one purpose in the U.S. It massages the ego of an already confident society. It is, in itself, propaganda.
It's the selling of a dead body for peace and quiet, rule and order.
Read between the lines: BEHAVE OR ELSE.
What proves a great modern country is its ability to 'handle' or 'contain' problems with minimum affect on the general populace. The U.S. has failed miserably at this task. Which, in reality, is a major task of any democratic country.
The death penalty, as law, flies in the face of America machismo. It is the weaker choice. It is the weaker choice to put someone to death for her or his actions. The truest, most right, most important decision is to allow someone to live.
Jesus would agree.
And yet America, in its cowboy boots and priestly garb, prances around as the great general, condemning people to die.
Mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters to die.
Families to die. Countries to die.

Here's the thing: If you truly want to be a brother to the people of this earth, you must pick them up when they are down. That is the right choice.
That is the choice Jesus would make.
And I'm sure it was the choice of the forefathers of the United States of America when they wrote, "we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal".
A true American (although not necessarily a popular one) was Walt Whitman when he wrote, "we must protect the stupid and the crazy."
That is the true America. The one that Canadians, like me, aspire to for our country. Where poets are free and laws are written by the people.
The death penalty is evidently wrong because killing people is wrong. I'm sure that's an idea that most Americans find 'self-evident'.
However, to counter the American political perspective (because it is so pervasive), I write this: killing the evildoer makes the evildoer stronger than you.
It admits the fact that you are incapable of 'handling' or 'containing' this person. They, in truth, have more power than you. They take your power from you.
They force you to commit the worst sin in the world.
Killing.
If you want to be a truly strong country, if you want to be a true superpower, you must not kill people. You must help them.
You must pick them up.
Not gun them down.
That's why putting Scott Peterson to death is wrong. He is an asshole. His beautiful wife and unborn child. What treasures.
Make him live. Remind him everyday of the tragedy he's caused.
Here's the thing:
Killing him gives him the power of America.
