The news story on the latest attack on our right to abortion with the frame-up of Scott Pederson by Death Penalty Democrat Attorney General Bill Lockyer as part of his race for the governor was just moved from the Local News section to the general Breaking News section, showing the appalling ignorance of some of the fact that ALL POLITICS ARE LOCAL. For the story, see:

We all certainly sympathize with the Palestinian people. The way to help the Palestinian people is to stop voting for their opponents, namely the Democrats and the Republicans, both staunchly pro-Israel parties, as is everyone of their politicians, including Tom Ammiano, the supervisor of District 9 where this demonstration is being held.

THE PROBLEM IS NOT PALESTINE; THE PROBLEM IS RIGHT HERE IN THE UNITED STATES. The pro-Palestinian vote in District 9 was only 30%, with about 7% of that being socialist, and District 9, the Mission-Bernal Heights is supposed to be the radical voting district of San Francisco. Green Party Renee Saucedo received 22% of the vote, and she did not raise the Israel issue in her campaign. Socialist, Peace & Freedom Party Steve Zeltzer received 3.25% of the vote and he did raise the Israel issue. Socialist Green Party Lucreci Bermudez receivd 4.11% of the vote and it is unknown if she raised the Israel issue.

Meanwhile, we have a Democratic Attorney General using our tax dollars to frame people on false murder charges, including the phony murder of a fetus, thereby attacking our right to abortion, to run for governor in 2006 against an equally reactionary Republican. Without our right to abortion, the lives of all women, 53% of the population, are seriously threatened. This same Democrat is staunchly pro-Israel, of course, as they all are. And everyone's life is in danger if an attorney general can frame a person for murder to get elected.

It is the abortion issue that is a far more effective rallying point and is the means by which we can defeat both pro-Israel parties, the Democrats and Republicans.

And further, aside from the Israel issue, our right to abortion deserves a rally. Where is it?

If you want peace in "Palestine" you have to tell the Palestinians to stop attacking Israel, and tell the Arab-Muslim world to give up their "destroy Israel" mentality.

Once that happens, Israel won't oppress anyone.

As long as Israel is made to feel it's under threat, they will continue to occupy.

Why you avoid this point I hvae no idea. It's like you intentionally have a useless, backwards view of the situation. Are you blind on purpose?

Oppression perpetuates violence. Injustice perpetuates violence.

Non-violence models non-violence.

On both sides. Figure it out. Otherwise accept your responsibility for the results. Like feeling terrorized? You must otherwise you would act to stop it.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world...not mere words.

What makes Israel consider itself a democratic gov't? One person one vote = democracy, which is hardly the situation in a country where birth does not guarantee citizenship. Sorry Israel, you have much to learn.

by Critical Thinker
The post by the person two posts above is steeped in an apparent belief that the self-improvement model is valid also for international relationships. But alas, the complexities of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict involve variables such as the Hamasite wish to cleanse the entire Land of Israel from Jews. To that end, they would press on carrying out terrorist actions even if Israel were to retreat from the disputed territories forthwith. To them, non-violence models violence; and as past experiences during the past decade have proven, their violence begets oppression and justice doesn't necessarily beget non-violence.
In short, int'l conflicts don't always respond to the self-improvement model.

The post at 8:12 AM is affected by the "see-only-Israel" syndrome. Different sectors in various other democratic countries don't have voting rights, but this person is picking on *Israel* of them all; never mind that virtually all Israeli Arabs within Israel proper do have equal voting rights and the problem is actually with the foreign workers from Romania, Thailand, China, etc.
