The Moral Campaign For A Paper Receipt

Date:
Monday, November 29, 2004
Time:
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Bryan Bowman
Location Details:
Senator Barbara Boxer
1700 Montgomery St., #240
San Francisco, CA 94111

We are staging mass protests at the office of the Alemeda Registrars office and our elected Bay Area officials to DEMAND that a paper trail be instituted on electronic voting machines. We plan to occupy offices, if needed to get a meeting and a written promise that these people will bring accountability to our election process. We want a standardized process and a paper trial, plain and simple!

This issue is fundamental to our democracy and is as important as any of the most serious issues we face today. We can do all the grassroots organising in the world, but if our votes get dissapeared in electronic voting machines, then our work of getting people to the polls is truly pointless.
