Flying Picket Sunday Nov.7
7pm Meet at Powell & Geary (in Union Square) in San Francisco. We'll fly from hotel picket to picket, going to as many as we want to, making noise, meeting hotel workers, showing solidarity, and having fun.
The word has been put out much wider for this flying picket, so a big turnout is likely!

In the aftermath of the election many are asking where to put their energies to revitalize real opposition for change. There are so many "issues" out there, it's hard to figure out where to put our attention. The end result is thousands of organizations most of which are able to accomplish very little because our power as a movement is fragmented. We need to think strategically.
I believe that supporting the hotel workers should of the highest priority for progressives and radicals in the Bay Area at this time. It would be a huge defeat if the hotel bosses were to win this fight in San Francisco, of all places. How could people talk with a straight face of the Bay Area as a "progressive stronghold" if the hotels are able to beat the shit out of their mostly-immigrant workforce right under our proverbial noses? Where are all the anti-racist activists? Where are all those demanding rights for immigrants? Where are those who clamor for universal health care (health costs being central to this particular fight)?
The workers can win this fight against the magnificently wealthy hotel capitalists. But it can only happen if this becomes a truly community-wide struggle that threatens to shut down the hotels and doesn't relent.
So, please, make it out to the flying pickets.
