SF Castroween- tens of thousands gawk at fab costumes

Report on Castroween, 31 October 2004:

Three members of SUN (including two nude male seniors)
demonstrated for peace at
Castro Halloween II (Castroween II), circa 9pm to midnight.

SF Police ignored our nudity, as did safety volunteers.
Most of the crowd were either friendly or neutral toward us.

To us, the crowd seemed huge, and mostly non-queer.
We're grateful to all the volunteers who made this event possible.

There was at least one other nude person, according to S.F. Chronicle:
"A naked guy in an executioner's mask chained himself to a tree. He did not give his name.... ".
Generally, Chron reporters rated this event "spooky but safe" --
"Tens of thousands converge on the Castro for a far-out, but peaceful, celebration."
