We Shall Not Be Moved (Key of D) – Revised Version 10/31 by Dan Bacher

We shall not, we shall not be moved (2x)
Just like a tree that’s standing by the water
We shall not be moved

Unite against the Junta, we shall not moved (2x)
Just like a tree that’s standing on the water, we shall not be moved

George Bush is a dictator, he shall be removed
Just like the scum that’s smelling up the water
He shall be removed

The Patriot Act must go now, it shall be removed
Just like the scum that’s smelling up the water
It shall be removed

No More Halliburton, it shall be removed

Jail Dick Cheney, he shall be removed

End the Bush Crime Family, they shall be removed

No Greedy Wars for Oil, they shall be removed

No Torture and Detention, they shall be removed

We’ll work to stop the Madness, we shall not be moved (2)
Just like a tree that’s standing on the water, we shall not be moved

No, No, No Nos Moveran, No, No, No Nos Moveran
Come un arbol firme junta el rio

We’ll work for Peace and Justice, we shall not be moved (2x)
Just like a tree that’s standing on the water, we shall not be moved

Let’s Start A War

by Dan Bacher

When someone disagrees with U.S. policy
They become a threat to our democracy
We got a real solution for any revolution
Don’t be a bore, let’s start a war

When scandal rocks the White House and the Senate Halls
Our leaders try to get our minds off it all
We’ll start bombing tonight our troops are gonna fight
Don’t be a bore, let’s start a war

We build dictators up and then we smash them down
You know where we’ve we been by bodies on the ground
The wheel of misfortune spins round and round and round
Don’t be a bore, let’s start a war

Chorus:
War is a star-spangled carnival of fun
With flags and yellow bows festooned on everyone
War is so exciting As long as you’re not fighting
Don’t be a bore, let’s start a war

From Vietnam’s hot jungles to Panama’s shores
From Serbia’s high peaks to streets of East Timor
Our bombs light up the night as again we fight...
Don’t be a bore, let’s start a war

From killing fields in Chile and El Salvador
To silent Mayan highlands where the living  are no more
In Baghdad’s ancient streets, the smell of death so “sweet”
Don’t be a bore, let’s start a war

When our economy declines so steadily
We’ll create a new Third World enemy
Who’ll we’ll demonize, we’ll make up lots of lies
Don’t be a bore, let’s start a war (Chorus)

War is a star-spangled carnival of fun
With flags and yellow bows festooned on everyone
War is so exciting, As long as you’re not fighting...
Don’t be a bore, let’s start a war

When streams of refugees from ventures overseas
Knock upon our door there’s no room here any more
Deport them back tonight ‘cause we got to fight...
Don’t be a bore, let’s start a war (Chorus)

Stumps of Mystery (Key of Am)

by Dan Bacher

There’s no place in this world where I’d rather be
Than the stumps of mystery
Where every stump tells a tale
Of another timber sale

You’ll picnic and frolic by a stream
That seems so still and so serene
Where salmon once swam in droves
They vanished with the redwood groves

Chorus:
There’s no place I’d rather be than the Stumps of Mystery
Where the ancient trees no longer stand
It’s a fun-filled drive where nothing is alive
Courtesy of George and Dick!

It’s a great place to go for vacation or a date
The largest park in our scenic state
It stretches for many, many miles
You’ll marvel at all the slash piles

Let’s take a stroll through the Mattole
To ease your body and your soul
A desert where once there was a stream
A wonderful corporate dream! (Chorus)

A forest without trees will never burn
A tree that’s never cut will never earn...
Profits for timber companies
“Healthy forests” means “Cut down trees!” (Chorus)

Chorus:
There’s no place I’d rather be than the Stumps of Mystery
Where the ancient trees no longer stand
It’s a fun-filled drive where nothing is alive
Courtesy of George and Dick!

Journalists for Censorship

by Dan Bacher

We’re journalists for censorship in service of the state
We’re flag waving patriots promoting war and hate
We’re proud of our profession, we serve our masters well
And if you don’t agree with us, you can go to hell!

We work for the New York Times and Sacramento Bee
You’ll hear us on the radio and on Network TV
No matter who we work for, one thing is for sure
We’ll bring into your living room a kinder, gentler war

We’re proud to be objective, unbiased and fair
But you got to be a general to get upon the air
With gleaming eyes we celebrate war technology
It’s a fun computer game made specially for TV

We back our leaders all the time when they go to war
Anywhere and anytime no matter what it’s for
We let our corporate sponsors tell us what us to say
Cause that’s democracy and the American way

We’re journalists for censorship in service of the state
We’re flag waving patriots promoting war and hate
We’re proud of our profession, we serve our masters well
And if you don’t agree with us, you can go to hell!
