No on Y: Come Join Us at Dia de Los Muertos Today!

The No on Measure Y campaign will be going out to the Dia de los Muertos festival centered around Fruitvale and International today (right at the Fruitvale BART Station). About 80,000 people are expected. We are going to meet up at ACORN's office at 10AM and go out with banners, signs and flyers and talk to folks all day (until 5PM) at the festival. If you want to come out late you can try calling Moki's cell phone at 510.387-0679 or just come on out to Fruitvale and look for the No on Measure Y signs.

Sunday, October 31st, we will meet at the ACORN office at 3616 Fruitvale Ave at 10AM and go pass out flyers and our cool newspapers at the Dia de los Muertos celebration on International Blvd in Fruitvale- 10s of thousands of people from Oakland go to this festival.
2-6PM we will be phone-banking along with Californians for Justice (address above)

Monday, November 1st, 9:30 AM Rally before the Riders go back on trial at the Rene Davidson Oakland Court House, 1225 Fallon Street! Help us pack the courthouse.

We will meet at ACORN's office at 3PM and disperse throughout the city to do rush hour publicity. We will hold up signs at busy intersections and pass out flyers at BARTs.

Tuesday, November 2nd, We will meet at ACORN's office at 6:30AM and again 3PM and disperse throughout the city to do rush hour publicity. We will hold up signs at busy intersections and pass out flyers at BARTs.

Noon – Meet at 14th and Broadway for a rally, spoken word, hip hop and march to the Court House reminding people to vote and to take back our community, No on Y, Yes on 66 with Bay Area Local Organizing Committee of the National Hip Hop Congress.

Saturday, November 6th - Sunday, November 7th - We're taking a "get-away" at the Point Reyes Youth Hostel, if you want to come hang out with us, go hiking, chill at the beach, this will be FUN trip to celebrate our victories in changing the debate about the role of police in making us safer and hopefully in defeating Measure Y! It is $16 for the night at the hostel, so by confirming we're expecting you'll cover this expense even if you have to bail on the trip.
