Seattle environmentalist John Reese will be speaking about
Israel's apartheid wall at CSUS, Oct.26 at 7 pm, Calaveras Hall, room
145. On a previous visit to Sacramento, Reese, hydrologist and
long-time activist who is a non-violence trainer and worked with Pax
Christi, reported on his research which revealed Israel's 37-year
occupation of Palestine has had consistently destructive impacts on
the landscape aand environment of the Holy Land, even that of
Bethlehem.

He states "Israel is building a wall in the Palestinian West
Bank twice as high and 5 times the length of the Berlin Wall. Israel
calls it a 'security fence' but in populated areas it is a 26 foot
high concrete wall". He continued "It is cutting off Palestinians from
their water sources, work places, schools and universities, medical
help and farmlands."

The occupation intensifies long-term destruction and
degradation of Palestine's natural resources. See web site
http://www.phg.org. A mock-up of the will be be displayed on the CSUS quad
with tabling from 10 AM to 2 PM. Evening parking for the 7 pm event
will be available in Lot 2.
